(Wear at least some of your makeup on the inside :)
The human race are the guinea pigs in the biggest experiment that history has ever seen. Every day new chemicals are created and used in our food, cleaners, medicine, personal care products. From silicon implants to anti-biotics, from anti-perspirants to fly spray. Virtually none of these new chemicals receive appropriate testing.
The good news is that for most of the time, our bodies can, if healthy, manage most if these chemicals. The emphasis here has to be on "healthy". The bad news is that women use more of these chemicals than men, such as makeup and household cleaning products.
Some of these chemicals mimic estrogens. Most people are aware that girls are maturing much earlier these days. A few with male children might also have some concerns regarding the opposite trend amongst boys. The mechanism that regulates hormones in our bodies does not recognise these artificial hormones or phyto-estrogens.
Another source of these pseudo estrogens chemicals, is un-fermented soy. Marketed as a health food, its marketing power hammered the consumers, that this product is GOOD for you. Asians always carefully fermented their soy before eating. When babies in one South American country were fed on soy formula, the baby girls breast development started at the age of two. Is that what you want?
A few suggestions:
- Eat WHOLE foods wherever possible
- Don't eat junk oils (soy, canola, sunflower) Olive, grapes seed oil is good.
- Avoid food and liquids stored in plastic, especially milk. Don't do soy.
- Avoid meals containing significant amounts of protein and carbohydrate together. Bad combining and an inadequate water intake makes for slow digestion and a big stomach.
- Get the waste management system going full steam using adequate water intake and fibre contained in WHOLE foods.
- Wine is better than beer, especially near meal times.
- Don't eat white sugar, white flour, white salt. It is industrial waste that farmers do not feed their animals with.
- And of course, make sure you take a good mineral supplement
For years farmers have been giving selenium to their male and female stock just before mating. This mineral reconditions both male and female sexual organs and function. In-Sync minerals has high levels of selenium as well as the remaining 76 minerals necessary to stay young..
If you cannot expel chemicals, then our bodies are forced to store the toxins. Your body finds as safe a place as possible to do this. What it finds is fat. Fat is the most inert and least disturbed of our tissues.
But as the fat enclosed toxins build up, your system can become overloaded causing some cells become poisoned and may becoming cancerous. The good news is that this is highly reversible. Your body is hell bent on survival, but you must help by giving it every tool that it needs.
Varicose Veins/Strokes/Heart disease/Hemaroids
One mineral deficiency that you should know about is a common mineral; "copper".
(Before rushing off to buy copper tablets, copper like all other minerals works synergistically with other minerals. NEVER TAKE MINERALS SEPARATELY. Always take as a multi mineral.)
Copper has a huge role in tissue strength and a deficiency makes for disease like strokes / heart disease / hemaroids and Varicose veins. Other signs are an early loss of muscle mass in the older population. It is well accepted in the scientific world that longevity is a direct function of muscle mass. Up until now, "Use it or you will lose it" sort of summed it up in a simple but effective way. Now you can help yourself by giving you body the building blocks needed to retain and add to your natural shape. We are talking firm bodies here, like people in their twenties and thirties have.
Stress
Stress or pressured mental activity is probably at least as demanding as a competitive physical training /competing, and emotional stress is the toughest of all mental activity. Feel washed out after an emotional drama? Head aches? You are depleting your minerals, even if you are eating well.
In-sync minerals offer the body all the materials that may be deficient in your diet, plus a heap of assistance to your overloaded immune system. Selenium is well known for its calming effect on the mind.
To back this up, the two countries in the world who have the highest suicide rates, also have the LOWEST selenium intakes in their diet. ©2005
